Centre of gravity close to the tractor. The ALPINA is a lightweight, easily towed yet robust mower.
ALPINA mowers are the lightest in their class, weighing just 390 kg / 450 kg / 480 kg depending on the model.
The optimum pressure of the mower bar on the ground can be adjusted quickly and easily by changing the length of the chains.
The centrally mounted rocker arm allows for a swing of +/- 10 degrees.
Flat-profile mower bar. Its height of just 4 cm and the fact that all the mower discs rotate towards the centre ensure an optimal flow of forage in all operating conditions.
A single attachment for multiple tractors. Both conventional and/or isodiametric tractors can be connected to the mower.
Special metal plates with a 5° angle can be fitted to the cutting disc at any time to increase the distance the crop is thrown towards the rear of the mower.

To meet this specific need, we designed our first mountain mowers back in 2003; since then, development has continued steadily in close collaboration with the most prestigious manufacturers of isodiametric tractors.
To operate effectively in alpine regions, it is essential to use lightweight and compact equipment. To ensure maximum driving stability on slopes, the machine’s centre of gravity must be as close as possible to the tractor. ALPINA meets these requirements perfectly: a lightweight mower that requires low power input, yet is extremely robust.
ALPINA mowers are the lightest models in their category. Available with working widths of 2.20 m, 2.66 m and 3.00 m, our engineers have managed to keep their weights down to just 390 kg, 450 kg and 480 kg. Thanks to this compact, lightweight design, the mower can be coupled to both low-horsepower tractors and specialised mountain vehicles, preserving the integrity of the sward and ensuring maximum safety in use.
ALPINA front-mounted mowers are attached at their centre of gravity. The centrally mounted rocker arm allows for a swing of ±10°, enabling the cutter bar to follow the unevenness of the ground closely and maintain a uniform cut even on the most uneven terrain.
The mower’s weight-relief system can utilise the tractor’s hydraulic lift compensation or, on request, two robust tension springs fitted between the machine’s hitch and the tractor’s chassis. The ideal pressure of the cutter bar on the ground can be adjusted quickly and easily by changing the length of the chains. This ensures a perfect cut and consistently clean forage, whilst reducing component wear and power consumption. Thanks to this perfect balance, the tractor maintains exceptional manoeuvrability and maximum stability even on gradients exceeding 30 per cent.
The smooth, uninterrupted flow of the crop over the cutter bar plays a vital role in the quality of the work. The forage must flow freely without causing build-up or blockages: a challenge that the ALPINA successfully overcomes, even when mowing on a downhill slope. The MARANGON cutter bar stands out for its extremely flat design, with a height of just 4 cm. This slim profile, combined with the fact that all the discs rotate towards the centre, ensures optimal forage conveyance and the formation of a perfect swath
in all operating conditions.
A single attachment for total compatibility. The system is designed to connect the mower to both conventional tractors and special isodiametric models, ensuring maximum flexibility of use with the various vehicles in your farm fleet.
Special integrated guards prevent debris, mud and grass clippings from being thrown out. This ensures that both the mower and the tractor remain clean at all times, reducing end-of-day maintenance time and guaranteeing optimum visibility whilst working.
Specially shaped vanes with a 5° angle can be fitted to the cutting discs at any time to optimise the flow and discharge of the crop towards the rear of the mower. This kit, which can also be retrofitted, ensures perfect discharge even with heavy or very dense forage.

“RAZOR CUT” MOWING UNIT: MARANGON-MADE QUALITY
The high-performance mowing unit has been deliberately designed with a compact, wedge-shaped profile to offer wide cutting-height adjustment possibilities and ensure the best penetration into even the most challenging forage crops, always guaranteeing an optimal, clean cut.
Rotation towards the centre: models equipped with disc rotation towards the centre allow the formation of a single swath and offer advantages on wet and soft ground. The mown crop is not pressed into the soil by the tractor and can be collected without losses.
CLEAN CUT TECHNOLOGY
Stripe-free cutting thanks to the optimal overlap of the blade trajectories.
“FIRST AID KIT” MAIN SUPPORT
The main support, made from a single block fixed with six screws, allows quick, individual and simple inspection of the gearbox.
COVER WITH INTEGRATED “C” REINFORCEMENT
The thick cover with integrated “C” reinforcement, unique in its kind, eliminates flexing of the cutting unit in order to prevent torsion of the moving components.
ROUND DISC
WEAR PLATES
The mowing unit is equipped as standard with a series of wear-resistant boron steel skids, designed to provide the gearbox casing with maximum protection against any risk of damage in the field. The rounded reinforcements placed between the skids effectively protect the bar, while the profiling on the underside prevents material build-up, allowing the mown crop to flow without interruption.
SUPPLEMENTARY WEAR PLATES
The supplementary wear plate kit can be fitted directly at the factory on request, or easily and quickly installed by the user at a later stage, as an aftermarket solution after purchasing the MARANGON mower. Pressed and manufactured from wear-resistant boron steel, these elements provide additional protection for the mowing unit.
“TOPPING SKIDS”
Raising plate that allows the cutting height to be increased in order to carry out so-called “topping”, cutting only the upper part of the plant. This operation stops the apical growth of the crop, stimulating development in the lower part; livestock entering the pasture afterwards will therefore find a much richer and more nutritious product.
QUICK BLADE CHANGE
Quick-change system for fast blade replacement using the dedicated key, specifically designed to minimise downtime in the field and increase hourly productivity.
Available for all Marangon disc mowers and mower conditioners.
LOWER DISC SCRAPERS
Module consisting of two scrapers made from hardened wear-resistant material, ensuring constant cleaning of the underside of the disc. The accessory can also be installed after the purchase of a MARANGON cutter bar, as the disc is already designed for aftermarket installation.
Available for all Marangon disc mowers and mower conditioners.
“SAFE CUT” DISC SAFETY SYSTEM
Users know it well: accidental impacts against foreign bodies and stones can cause serious damage and high repair costs. With the “SAFE CUT” system, we offer maximum protection at reduced costs. The cutting disc impact protection system, available on request, is a unique solution on the market in terms of safety and operating comfort.
