The body of the cutter bar is connected to the end of the oscillating arm by a robust central pin. This construction configuration results in wide freedom of pendulum oscillation and exemplary adaptation to the contours of the terrain, reducing stress on the frame. To protect the entire structure and ensure maximum component longevity, the machine is equipped as standard with an active safety system against accidental impacts.
The spring suspension system with central adjustment ensures a perfectly uniform cut, while always maintaining optimal ground pressure. Designed to maximize operating comfort and reduce machine downtime, the device allows the ground pressure to be varied and customized quickly and safely, without the need to use any tools.
Protection against foreign objects, fitted as standard, is an extremely reliable mechanical system that operates through an adjustable spring and a robust ratchet. Integrated directly into the bar suspension, this device ensures the timely movement of the bar in the event of sudden obstacles, making work along field edges or near fences completely safe. When activated, the mower can move back up to 1.2 meters and simultaneously lift up to 40 centimeters; this particular geometric feature allows it to easily overcome hidden hazards on the ground. Once the obstacle has been cleared, the machine returns fully automatically to the correct working position, protecting the integrity of the components without interrupting mowing operations.
The exceptional angular range, from 29° upward to 20° downward, makes this machine ideal for easily operating on steep slopes, field edges, and along ditches, overcoming any unevenness of the terrain. In addition, the wide ground clearance of as much as 50 centimeters when lifted at the headland ensures smooth passage over newly formed swaths without damaging them, significantly increasing the maneuverability of the working unit in the presence of fixed obstacles such as fence posts.
Thanks to the hydraulic rearward rotation of the mower, an extremely narrow and low transport configuration is achieved. This specific geometric arrangement reduces road dimensions and ensures the operator a perfect rear view, completely free from visual obstructions during all movements.
The technological heart of the P400 pendulum mower lies in its exclusive direct cutting unit, which uses Marangon’s proven advanced-center-distance technology. Specifically designed and developed to ensure maximum performance even in the most demanding mowing conditions, this refined mechanical architecture allows the machine to cut and convey the forage in a single, smooth pass, optimizing operating times in the field. Thanks to perfect synergy with the pendulum suspension system, this cutting-edge system drastically reduces torsional stresses and the loads transmitted to the rotating components. The result is unmatched operating smoothness, a significant reduction in energy consumption, and extraordinary longevity of all kinematic components, even on uneven terrain.

HIGH-PERFORMANCE MARANGON CUTTING UNIT WITH ADVANCED CENTER DISTANCE
The innovative high-performance Marangon cutting unit consists of a series of gears with advanced center distance, an engineering solution that significantly reduces both the traction power required from the tractor and the stress transmitted to the drive components, ensuring maximum efficiency and longevity. The high-profile gears transmit motion optimally to the fast-moving disc components, ensuring uniform, constant, and efficient power distribution at every single cutting point.
“SAFE CUT” DISC SAFETY SYSTEM
Accidental impacts against foreign objects can cause serious mechanical damage and costly machine downtime. To prevent these issues, the optional “Safe Cut” system offers maximum protection with reduced maintenance costs, ensuring an unmatched level of safety and operating comfort. Thanks to this device, the transmission components remain fully protected and preserved from any wear; in the event of impact, full functionality is restored through the quick and simple replacement of the safety pins, an economical operation that minimizes repair costs.
QUICK BLADE CHANGE
The quick-change system allows the blades to be replaced in just a few moments using the dedicated key supplied, eliminating time losses and dramatically increasing hourly productivity in the field. The unit consists of two scrapers made of hardened wear-resistant material that ensure constant cleaning of the lower part of the disc. Thanks to the native preparation of the Marangon cutter bar, this practical accessory can also be easily installed at a later stage as an aftermarket solution.
WEAR PLATES
The cutting unit is equipped as standard with a series of highly wear-resistant boron steel skids, designed to provide the gear housing with maximum protection against any risk of damage on the ground. Special rounded reinforcements positioned between the skids protect the integrity of the bar, while the special profiling on the underside prevents the build-up of soil and residues. In this way, the mown crop flows smoothly and without interruption toward the rear of the machine.
ROUND DISC
The round-profile design of the disc offers a significantly reduced impact surface and a greater ability to disperse shocks, preserving the entire mechanics of the cutting unit and ensuring high quality of the cut crop with lower power absorption. This system increases the service life of the 129 mm blades, which ensure perfect overlap, as they do not work for the entire rotation of the disc but, once mowing has been completed, retract into protection under the adjacent disc; this feature also prevents continuous and damaging trimming of the forage, which therefore remains intact and clean. In addition, the perfect symmetry of the discs makes it possible to interchange them once worn, optimizing their life cycle.
CLEAN CUT TECHNOLOGY
Clean Cut technology ensures an impeccable, completely stripe-free cut in the field, thanks to geometrically optimal overlap of the blade trajectories during operation.
“FIRST AID KIT” MAIN SUPPORT
The main transmission support is engineered as a single monolithic block firmly fixed with six screws. This construction architecture allows the operator to carry out quick, individual, and targeted inspection of the gearbox, drastically simplifying routine inspection and maintenance operations.
