Disc and drum mowers and mower-conditioners – Direct-cut headers

THE MARANGON LINE OF CONDITIONERS: EFFICIENCY, GENTLENESS, AND TOTAL CONTROL OVER THE PRODUCT.

Three conditioning systems to suit every type of forage: roller
, nylon flails, and iron flails.

Marangon hay dryers are designed to optimize drying times and preserve forage quality, adapting to different types of crops and the user’s operational needs.

Each model—whether roller, nylon-flail, or iron-flail—ensures uniform conditioning, a steady flow of the product, and precise control of the working intensity.

Efficient power transmission, intuitive adjustments, and a robust design ensure consistent performance even under demanding conditions, improving yield, uniformity, and the final quality of the harvest.

RCG
Roller Conditioner

Thanks to its extremely gentle conditioning action, the RCG roller system is ideal for processing leafy, high-protein forage, such as alfalfa and clover, where preserving the integrity of the plant is essential. The exclusive sharp-edged grooved profile, developed with a spiral geometric shape, exerts a vigorous bending and crushing effect on the stems, accelerating the drying process without damaging the foliage. Seamlessly integrated into the machine’s kinematics, this profile also ensures a constant flow and flawless transfer of forage directly from the mower bar, optimizing productivity even when handling large volumes of forage.

RCG
GENTLE AND EFFECTIVE HAIR CARE

The proven roller system with interlocking profile applies perfectly uniform pressure to the stalks, preserving the quality of the forage and ensuring the formation of an exceptionally soft and light swath. To adapt with maximum flexibility to different types of forage, the distance between the rollers can be easily adjusted by changing the height of the upper roller, while the conditioning pressure can be precisely calibrated on both sides using a convenient crank handle. Maximum reliability against unexpected events in the field is guaranteed by an integrated safety system that allows the rollers to deflect upward by up to 120 mm in the presence of foreign objects, safeguarding the integrity of the mechanical components. Finally, the way the product is handled on the ground is fully customizable: special adjustable guide plates ensure gentle and uniform placement, while the swath-forming deflectors allow for a quick transition from wide-spread placement to the formation of a well-defined swath, accommodating every specific farm need.

OPTIMIZED FLOW AND UNIFORM CONDITIONING

The converging rotational motion of the discs, which constantly operate in opposing pairs, is designed to generate a smooth, evenly distributed flow of product across the entire effective width of the rollers. This advanced kinematics prevents central accumulation and forces the forage to engage the entire conditioning surface. By fully utilizing the width of the unit, the system ensures identical processing for every single stalk, accelerating field drying times in a perfectly uniform manner while maximizing the nutritional value and final quality of the harvested product.

MODULAR TECHNOLOGY: RELIABILITY AND LIGHTWEIGHT DESIGN

The conditioning rollers feature an outer diameter of 200 mm and a state-of-the-art design, characterized by high-strength polyurethane profiles molded into independent sections and mounted on sturdy central tubular shafts. Compared to traditional rubber, this material offers superior hardness and exceptional resistance to abrasion and wear. The unique design featuring interchangeable segments—which are not vulcanized directly onto the roller—offers a significant economic and operational advantage: in the event of accidental damage or localized wear, it allows for the replacement of only the affected module, drastically reducing maintenance costs and downtime.
The system’s kinematics are designed for maximum efficiency: power is transmitted directly from the cutterbar drive to the lower roller via high-grip V-belts. To deliver maximum performance even when handling large volumes of forage, both rollers are driven in perfect synchronization by a robust oil-bath gearbox, specifically designed to withstand the heaviest workloads. Finally, to simplify workshop operations and ensure constant protection of all moving parts, the machine comes standard with a practical centralized lubrication system.

RCF
Nylon-Flagellum Air Conditioner

Designed to speed up haymaking, this system ensures fast and exceptionally uniform drying of the forage. The combined action of the durable nylon flails and V-shaped polyurethane tines provides optimal conditioning of the stalks, breaking down their outer waxy layer without damaging the foliage. This specific component geometry not only maximizes moisture evaporation but also generates a continuous, smooth, and clog-free flow of material within the machine, optimizing hourly productivity and the final quality of the harvest.

ADJUSTING THE CONDITIONING INTENSITY

The system allows for precise control of the processing thanks to an accurate graduated scale that makes it easy to set the distance between the beaters and the embossed plate: reducing this gap increases the conditioning intensity to better adapt to the product’s characteristics. The output flow is managed by a large, rounded hood and special adjustable guide plates that ensure gentle placement and a perfectly uniform windrow. The swath-shaping deflectors also allow for a quick switch from wide-spreading to the formation of a well-defined swath, accommodating every specific farm need.
Power is transmitted directly from the mower bar drive to the rotor via high-efficiency V-belts; this robust mechanical configuration ensures a low overall weight and extremely smooth, quiet operation. Finally, to maximize convenience and reduce machine downtime, all lubrication points have been positioned on the exterior, making them immediately accessible for routine maintenance.

POWERFUL TRANSMISSION AND RPM CONTROL

The system’s reliability is supported by a high-strength four-belt drive, designed to ensure powerful, consistent, and slip-free operation even under the most demanding working conditions. This efficient mechanical configuration allows for optimal management of load variations on the rotor, thereby optimizing energy consumption. Furthermore, to adapt the conditioning intensity to different types of forage, the RCF conditioner offers exceptional operational versatility: by simply replacing the main pulley, the operator can adjust the rotation speed, choosing between 600 and 900 revolutions per minute, thus ensuring consistently flawless and customized conditioning.

RCFS
Iron-bladed fan

Designed to ensure maximum productivity and reduce haymaking time, this system guarantees fast and exceptionally uniform drying of the forage. The combined action of the sturdy iron flails and the durable V-shaped hardened steel tines provides optimal conditioning of the stalks, breaking through their waxy outer layer to accelerate moisture evaporation. Thanks to the use of materials that are highly resistant to wear and stress, this specific component geometry not only ensures exceptional longevity even on difficult terrain but also generates a continuous, smooth, and clog-free product flow inside the machine, optimizing the final quality of the harvest.
