The ground pressure of the cutter bar is determined by the spring tension. On the MDX 320 and 245 models, the spring tension can be adjusted without tools using repositionable pins. Increasing the tension reduces the ground pressure.

The side drums effectively convey the forage toward the center of the machine, allowing the formation of a soft, regular, and well-defined swath. This system ensures a constant discharge flow and optimizes the subsequent handling and collection of the crop in the field.
The spring suspension system ensures a uniform cut and optimal ground pressure, providing perfect adaptation and immediate responsiveness even on the most uneven terrain. Spring tension is easily adjustable manually using practical repositionable pins. This configuration allows impeccable mowing quality to be maintained even at high forward speeds, while protecting the grass sward. The result is consistently clean, high-quality forage, combined with fast and uniform crop regrowth.
The mower is equipped as standard with an external conveyor disc, designed to gather the forage even more precisely and cleanly. For specific requirements where an even narrower discharge track is needed, the internal disc is available as an option, allowing an additional reduction in swath volume.
The safety system, positioned in the drawbar, allows the mower to move back appropriately in the event of impact with obstacles. Once triggered, the device is reset mechanically, without having to get off the tractor.
Power transmission takes place via four SPBX toothed belts. The belt transmission allows the mower to work at both positive and negative angles, thereby following uneven ground, such as banks and embankments.
The frame is entirely galvanized to ensure maximum durability over time, protecting the structure from premature corrosion caused by the typical acids found in fresh forage. To facilitate routine maintenance operations, the front protective curtain can be fully lifted, reducing the machine’s overall bulk and ensuring convenient, complete access to every component of the cutter bar for quick blade replacement or daily cleaning.
For transport, the mower is hydraulically folded into a vertical position at an angle of 102°, an optimal solution that completely clears rear visibility through the tractor’s two rear-view mirrors. The perfect balance of the center of gravity ensures excellent stability and maximum road safety, while keeping the working unit extremely compact. In addition, thanks to the possibility of manually folding the outer side guard, the maximum height is further reduced, allowing easy passage even under bridges or through narrow spaces.

WEAR PLATES
The cutting unit is equipped as standard with a series of wear-resistant boron steel skids, designed to provide the gear housing with maximum protection against any risk of damage in the field. The rounded reinforcements positioned between the skids effectively protect the bar, while the profiling on the underside prevents material build-up, allowing the mown crop to flow without interruption.
ADDITIONAL WEAR PLATES
The additional wear plate kit can be fitted directly at the factory on request, or it can be installed easily and quickly by the user at a later date, aftermarket, after purchasing the MARANGON mower. Stamped and made of wear-resistant boron steel, these elements provide additional protection for the cutting unit.
“TOPPING SKIDS”
Raising plate that allows the cutting height to be increased in order to perform so-called “Topping”, cutting only the upper part of the plant. This operation stops the apical growth of the crop, stimulating the development of the lower part; livestock entering the pasture afterwards will therefore find a much richer and more nutritious crop.
QUICK BLADE CHANGE
Quick-change system for fast blade replacement using the dedicated key, specifically designed to minimize downtime in the field and increase hourly productivity.

LOWER DISC SCRAPERS
Module consisting of two scrapers made of hardened wear-resistant material that ensure constant cleaning of the lower part of the disc. The accessory can also be installed after purchasing a MARANGON cutter bar, as the disc is already natively prepared for aftermarket installation.
